Mhon.
Songs in experiment and silence.
Music telling stories interwoven with silence and sounds I collected somewhere in the world (on cassette tapes- I travel with my old walkman). Me and my music toured Europe and New York, can be heard in exhibitions, radioplays, theatre. Often I work together with visual artists.
“I met Judith Mann a few years ago at the Brooklyn Rod and Gun club and she introduced me to her ethereal, haunting music. She’s like an avantgarde Cat Power meets Bjork. I think her music is amazing … and for whatever reason incredibly visual: I just keep seeing things when I hear it.” (Peter Mattei for “electric literature”)
“like aural Edward Hopper paintings, described in songs and poems” (live unsigned)
” Musician between sound art and minimalistic songwriting” (ALpress)
I play solo or invite guests to play with me. In The last years I frequently reimagined field recordings by other artists, transforming them into songs for the “Cities and Memory” Project.
Mhon is the name of my solo project.
Mho: the reciprocal of an ohm, a former unit of electrical conductance.
Voice, piano, synthesiser, walkman, sometimes electric guitar, sometimes flute.
